WHAT’S SO AMAZING ABOUT GRACE?

HYMN: AMAZING GRACE

 

1 Peter 4:10  “… so minister… as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

GRACE IS AMAZING BECAUSE…

1.       It involves the best dying for the worst

 

Hymn# 354  “I Gave My Life For Thee”

Jesus is the best: (1 Peter 2:22) “Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth”

We are the worst: (Romans 5:8) “…while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”

2.       It required that the highest become the lowest.

3.       It required the richest to become the poorest.

(2 Corinthians 8:9) “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

4.       It gives us what we need rather than what we deserve.

(Romans 4:25) “Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised for our justification
(Romans 5:21) “That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord”

5.       It involved God paying a debt that He did not owe for those who could not pay.

(2 Corinthians 9:15) “Thanks be to unto God for his unspeakable gift

6.       It cost God everything, but is offered freely to man.

(John 3:16) “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…

7.       It is greater than all of our sin.
