"A TIME TO PRAY"
OT
had set times for prayer:
- Psalm 119:164 "seven times a day do I praise thee"
- Psalm 55:17 "evening, morning and noon, will I pray"
- Daniel 6:10 "three times a day, prayed"
- Acts 3:1 "at the hour of prayer"
- Acts 10:2-3 "prayed to God always... about the ninth hour"
NT makes prayer a way of life; it's something we do:
- Luke 18:1
- Romans 12:12
- Ephesians 6:18
- 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "pray without ceasing"
Why?
- It's now a test of devotion, and it's not a performance of duty
